Tru Love of Life JH CGC

Tru has graduated from bird dog school with Randy Boggs of Snowridge Vizslas. It has been quite the learning experience for both Dan and Tru. In March 2008 Tru will be heading out with Mark Smith of Remark Kennels to be competed this spring. With our new baby coming Dan wont be able to trial much and we want Tru to continue competing. We will keep you updated on their progress!

If you were to ask Dan to describe Tru in one word, it would be perfect! Dan and Tru share a bond that I can't even begin to understand. Tru is Dan's first dog and what a dog he is!

What make Tru unique? He has a sense of humor that keeps us laughing. He has a heart bigger then the globe and a work ethic just as big. You may ask, What is Tru's best quality? His perfect temperament. He has been described as having the perfect vizsla temperament, all who meet Tru fall in love... hence his name - Tru Love of Life.

At four, Dan's beautiful boy is getting a bit of a silver muzzle. I think that it adds character to his gorgeous head. While Tru is not a perfect vizsla or even a perfect dog, his is perfect for Dan.

Tru is available at stud to approved bitches, please contact Jodi for more information

Tru's Story

Tru was purchased to be "only" a pet and he was supposed to be the "only" dog. If you own a Vizsla, this story should be familiar with you!

I wanted a Vizsla from the time a friend of mine rescued one. I fell in love with the sweet natured, laid back girl and I knew I was hooked. Interestingly enough, my husband (before I had met him) had also wanted a Vizsla from the time he babysat one and it kicked him out of bed at night!

I was finally at the point in my life when a dog would make a great addition. I started to do a lot of research on the Vizsla to make sure it was indeed the dog for me. I called and talked to several breeders and joined some Vizsla specific online groups and decided that I just had to have a Vizsla.

I narrowed down my choice of breeders and settled upon Jim & Linda Busch. I really clicked with them and knew that I could count on them for any support that I may need. After talking to both Jim and Linda about what bloodlines matched my needs, I was put on the list for a male pup out of their Jane (Shiloh's Firecracker Jane JH) and sire by their Raany (FC/AFC Raany SH FD). At the beginning of February I laid eyes on this adorable littler of little red puppies. My biggest requirements were a dark coat and no white (except for a bit on the toes) Tru was the tiniest and the whiniest with a head full of puppy wrinkles and green eyes that melted my heart. He was J6 in his litter. I brought him home on Valentine's Day 2004 and the rest is history.

Both Dan (at the time my boyfriend) and I named Tru. We wanted a name that was a bit different and very fitting to the breed. I had just gotten finished reading an article that described Vizsla's as loving life and hence the name Tru Love of Life. He was to be my heart and soul dog, but instead Tru fell in love with my soon-to-be husband and made Dan's dream of owning an incredible dog come true! As a gift to Dan, I signed over ownership.

We enrolled Tru in a puppy class and then followed it up with basic obedience. At the tender age od six months Tru earned his CGC certificate and impressed the evaluator so much that she could not stop talking about him - we knew then that our Tru was destined for greatness.

After our first fun days with the VCOI (Vizsla Club of Illinois) Dan and I were hooked on this thing called a Hunt Test. Tru lived for running and finding birds in the field. At the young age of nine months, Tru was awarded his first official title of JH (Junior Hunter) - Dan was so proud I thought that he would bust! Tru earned this title in four consecutive passes.

Since Jim & Linda roped us into this incredible world of Vizslas, we have gotten our feet wet in Hunt Tests, Field Trials, Conformation Showing, Obedience, Agility and we are hope to use Tru as a therapy dog in the future.

Tru is a very laid back male who is content to be shown his place in the pack. He has a very high work ethic and lives to please Dan. Tru is solid rust with a coat that just shines, he has a gorgeous head and is lightly built for a male. Tru is the snuggliest dog with impeccable house manners who never breaks the rules... he just finds ways to bend them! Tru is a wonderful companion and fits into our home perfectly. Because he is the start of our love in Vizslas, we have named our kennel after him.
